Nursery Rhyme

Three little kittens, they lost their mittens,

And they began to cry,

Oh, mother dear, we sadly fear

That we have lost our mittens.

What! Lost your mittens, you naughty kittens!

Then you shall have no pie.

Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow.

You shall have no pie.


Do you still remember your Childhood days? Do you still remember any of your favorite nursery rhymes before? 1986 I was Grade 1 back then at John Spirit Elementary School, Zamboanga City. This was the very first nursery rhymes I’ve learned from my teacher, I already forgot her name, but I can still remember her face. Every morning she let us sing different nursery songs and one of this is the Three Little Kittens, actually I am not sure if it is a song or a poem.


Twinkle, twinkle, little star,

How I wonder what you are!

Up above the world so high,

Like a diamond in the sky!


Yes! Perhaps this is the best and most popular nursery rhyme ever; your kindergarten year is not boring if you did not sing this song. I’ve learned this from my Aunt, after I take a bath, she’ll helps me to put on some cloth and while doing that she always wants me to sing with her...

Of all the nursery rhyme there is, this is the most educational one, believe me, I’ve learned to read and write my first ABCs because of this song, it is helpful , and rest assured that someday I will teach this song to my children.

Count with me buddy, my father always used to sing this song to us, he is the one who taught us to count, I can still remember his smile while singing it. But, do you know what my favorite nursery rhyme is?

Wow! Grade 2, J-Jireh Elementary School, I am seating at the back, holding my Mongol 1 pencil while singing this song. I can still recall, back when I was small, I’ve learned a lot of nursery rhyme, and this one for me is the best.

Oh! Come on, don’t tell me you did not sing those rhyme, don’t tell me you did not miss your childhood days? Well here is your chance.. Let’s sing...


I will grow older and older but I will still feel young at heart while singing my favorite Nursery Rhyme.

  1. dami mong alam na nursery rhymes bata ka pa niyan. ako kahit isa wala.Kaya no wonder bakit magaling ka. Ang mga magulang dapat tinuturuan ng bata gawin ito kasi malaki ang naitutulong nito sa kanila.
