The Alchemist -Paulo Coelho

The Alchemist

The Book:
I just want to share to you this one classic master piece from Paulo Coelho “The Alchemist”, it is about the journey of the young shepherd named Santiago, who travels to Egypt to find his treasure and his personal legend, during his travel he met different people who had played big part on his journey and as well as changed his point of views and ideas, he met lone Gypsy who taught him, if he does find the treasure, she wants 1/10 of it, an old king named Melchizedek who tells him that "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." and beautiful Arabian woman named Fatima who explained to him that he needs to follow his heart for him to be able to find his treasure.

Along his way Santiago then encounters a lone alchemist who tells about personal legends. The alchemist state that "Those who don't understand their personal legends will fail to comprehend its teachings." He now feels unsure about himself as he listens to the alchemist's teachings.

Santiago also encounters love, danger, opportunity, disaster and learns a lot about himself around the impact he had on the people he met. He learned to survive and make his own decision and find his way back home.

The Alchemist was originally written in Portuguese and was first published in 1988 and has been in the World Guinness Record for having been translated to 67 different languages, It has sold more than 65 million copies in more than 150 countries, becoming one of the best-selling books in history

Personal:
The story of Santiago reflect  to my personal life, my agenda and my point of views, I am a traveler and a treasure hunter, I have been hunting my happiness ever since, chasing the successful part of my life, I have encounter different types of people and some of them had played significant role in my life, they have taught me a lot of things, in this book I’ve learned that there is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve; the fear of failure we have to be brave all the time, it doesn’t matter how slow you go as long as you do not stop.

“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”

  7. it doesn’t matter how slow you go as long as you do not stop. Favorite ko yan. Sabi yan ni Lolo Confucius. I never read that book. I am more into reading self-help book right now and have two pendings right there on my bookshelf but with your recommendation, I'll go find that book.

Anu ba yan serious, parang hindi ako sanaya Al. hahaha! Genun talaga, dapat minsan madapa, at lahat tayo dumaan, dumadaan, at dadaan diyan no matter what. Di ka nag-iisa, andito kami pre, mga nadapa din, pero determiandong bumangon. Huwag mo hanapin si "Hapiness", ang hanapin mo si "Felicity".
