EAT MY ENGLISH

You might be wondering why the sadden I am writing my blog entry in English lately, well the reason is "NOTHING... I JUST WANT TO... JOKE!!!", I was doing a regular blog hopping, when I crashed into this Blog owned by an American Lady, actually I am not sure if she’s an American or Canadian, it’s hard to distinguish, for she did not mentioned her nationality, but if given a chance to hear the way she talks, then I can determine her nationality, because I know the different between the American and Canadian accent, as well as Australian. This is something I’ve learned from my previous job in SITEL

Anyway, like what I’ve said, I was doing a regular blog hopping when I crashed into her site, I got interested and fascinated with her topic, it was about pasta, I super love pasta, especially if it is in white sauce, I want to learn how to cook it, so I read her blog, because I want to get a tips on how to cook a quick pasta meal.

Along the way, while I am reading, I was imagining things, like I am a chef, wearing an apron and that large tall hut that chef always wears every time they are cooking (I don’t know what’s the name for it), I was craving for pasta that time, I am hungry already and craving to death for pasta, good thing we always have pasta in our cafeteria during lunch time here in our office.

Anyway, my post is not about pasta, I just want to use it to make my blog a little bit long and to add some spice, my post is about why I am writing in English lately, well dude “EAT MY ENGLISH", because while I am reading her blog I found out that the sentences and grammars she is using is not proper, I won’t say it’s a wrong grammar, but instead it’s not proper, she is not using the correct tenses in her blog, the correct usage and the subject verb agreement, almost all of her entry are like these, she is an American or something, she should know how to use proper English, but she’s not using it, I am not really good when it comes to English Grammar but at least I can be able to determine if your grammar is correct or not, at least in few sentences ehehehhe, I am not fluent but I can speak spontaneously with less pillars.

E-O-P

After reading her blog, I’ve said to myself, she is an American but she is not shy to write down something even her grammar is not proper, she just write and write and she doesn’t mind her sentences, so that’s it, I begun writing in English, who cares, at least I tried, also, it’s like Filipino, we often writes in Filipino but we are not aware that we are not using the “Tamang Pangungusap at Balarila”, we don’t mind as long as we know that the readers would understand what we are trying to say.

So this is the reason why I suddenly started to write in English.

And Also I was inspired by SEY and MAYEN and some other Filipino bloggers who writes in English.

And also (again) I want to practice writing in English. Bleh…

Note:
I have visited hundreds of American blogger and some of them doesn’t care about their grammars. Thanks to them, I was inspired.

“EAT MY ENGLISH” (is a Restaurant Bar located along Metro Walk, Beside Muchos, Ortigas Center, hahahha,,,, I so love this place)

  6. ok i ate your English, i am actually chewing it now! lol. should we write our comments in English too?hehe.. You're right that when you speak the language it's easy not to pay attention with your grammar. English is a complex language that even american or other nationalities who speak English as their native language still commit mistakes.

I'm subscribed via e-mail to one blog that talks about improvement of writing skills. She is great and I learned a lot from her but there was this one post when she apologized because she made a mistake in her previous blog post. It's like everything she said about the topic was wrong. You see even the grammarian makes mistakes, so why can't we?

Besides practice makes perfect..so why stop practicing? E-O-P na to!! haha.. take care Al!!!

  15. Yes, E-O-P....parang nasa office lang ako, hehe! Yes, Patapon you're right, native speakers of the english language knows how to speak fluently but they're having problems writing it. They write based on how they say the words....based from experience yan kasi we have one officemate na kano. I always tease him and he always said I am such an A**hole, (but he is just kidding)

Anyway, at first ako din afraid of criticisms. then when times goes by, sige aja, bahala na. At least people can still understand and at the same time, I am developing the skills diba, need ko din kasi yun sa trabaho.

At yun na nga, saka one reason why I am writing in english is for the fact that i want to reach the other parts of the world through my blog.

Eat My English? first time ko narining yan mapuntahan nga.

Thanks din sa free advertisement like what Mayen said. hehe

  16. So magiging ENglish blog na ba ito Al? Hahhaha :) Actually true... most English blogger don't write their personal blog the way we expect it to be written...

Just like when we are writing in Tagalog db? we don't mind if we are using punctuations, spelling, weird vocabularies in a wrong way..as long that our readers will understand what we're trying to incorporate. Ano daw sabi ko?

Pero lam mo.. ang mga kano... (o kung sino mang foreigner na englisero) they don't really care if you pronounce words mali, bali-baliktad, praning, kase di ka nila pagtatawanan.. mas judgemental lang talaga mga pinoy sa mga grammar grammar na yan... hahaha..

Pero go go go lang suportado kita Al! Ikaw pa! :)

  17. yehee yipee yahoo.pasalo din sa inihanda mong ito. I think (o umenglish) kasi yan ang naiisip kaagad.aaminin ko gwapo lang ako(ang kapal)at more on a business man ( o ano) kaysa tawaging writer.(patawarin).

  18. well well well..since your entry is in english, i will also comment in english..hahaha

for me, my language depends on the readers that i have, like there's this another blog that i have wherein i post purely in english because most of my readers are not filipino. and i dont care if i write it with wrong grammars and stuff, as long as i express what i feel. some really dont care at all if you have errors or what because its your blog anyway.

and sey is right, it helps in developing your skill in both writing and speaking.

    go go go kuya!
